I didn't know my Dad's Dad when he could get around well. I only knew him sitting in his chair, with his left arm immobile, and right eye shut due to several strokes. He never really talked that much. I always made a point to shake his hand, go in for a hug, kiss him on his prickly cheek, and tell him I loved EVERYTIME before leaving my Grandparents' house. I am soooo thankful I did that. It's the only connection we really had.
These pictures helped me see my Grandpa in a different light. These are from when my parents were living in Hawaii. How nice. I have asked myself for YEARS why they ever decided to leave!!! It's probably a good thing since I burn so easily!! :P ha ha
