Country Style

All of my neighbors have really nice mailboxes -- me I'm going country -- wild grass and weeds and all.

Ok - it's not b/c I "wanted" to, it's b/c I don't have a weed whacker or a push mower so I can't get around these hard areas. As long as I just keep telling myself "I'm going for the country look" maybe I won't feel so humiliated that I'm the only mailpost on the road barely visible.

Funny, I thought only people living in suburbs had these prideful, comparing neighbor moments! Guess not! Human is human no matter where you call home.

This might make you feel better. When we moved into our house there were two really nice mail boxes right by our driveway with the house numbers mounted on the wood posts (no number stickers, mind you). I assumed one of them was ours. WRONG! Ours was on the other end of the property, stickers curled and barely readable, AND I had to pry the door open with a screw driver it was so badly rusted. To top it all off the inside seemed like it had been filled with more dirt than mail. Thankfully my parents had an extra we were able to take off their hands! :)
