Sledding 3-2-08

Sunday several church families traveled to Camp Forest Springs (I believe that is the correct name), where we went sledding. It was a blast!! We didn't have to walk up the hill b/c there was a pull-rope system. I think I went down for 2 hours straight before taking a break!

When first walking from the lodge to the hill I didn't notice we were walking across frozen water!!!!!! I slightly freaked out b/c I have never done that before. The only frozen water I like to be on is at an ice-skating rink--you know, a controlled environment! It wasn't bad though. I didn't hear any cracking noises so I pretty much forgot about it. The little ice fishing huts over to the side were pretty much a constant reminder though.

Jacquelynn after a full day of fun!!
.
Out of the entire group, I think Jacquelynn looked the best after it was all said and done. I had a knotted up head of hair from my knit hat - very attractive let me tell you!! ;)
.
It was a fun day, but I have paid for it dearly. My arms are soooo sore from hooking up to huge chains we made, I have bruises on my leg - and I have no clue how they got there, and last night I actually went to bed right after dinner I was so drained. I think it was b/c I've been busy, and working, and up late since Friday and it finally just all caught up to me. I still don't completely feel like myself yet, but I'm hoping me is just around the corner!! ;)
.
Wish I had more pictures of the actual sledding event to share. I had my camera with me, I just didn't pull it out b/c I was having so much fun. A moment that sticks out is when I discovered there's actually a good way and a not so good way to hook arms - at least for me. If you've ever watched "Meet the Robinsons" you'll probably remember the line: "I have a big head and little arms. I'm just not sure how well this plan was thought through." I'm not saying I have a big head - but I am saying my arm length has much to be desired. If I went "under" my neighboring tuber's arm (is that even a word?), I had a really hard time holding on. But if they went "under" my arm it was sooo much better. There was a lot more security for me. You don't want to be the one to break up a 30+ person chain!!! No pressure or anything. ha ha
.
All's well that ends well. I can't wait to go next year!!
