For the Reader

I failed to get the "book worm" gene in my family. When I was in grade school I remember enjoying the American Girl series. Recently I shared with my mom that I would flip ahead through the upcoming pages to see which pages had a picture. Within a chapter there would be one full page picture, usually a half page picture, little trinket pictures set with the print around it, and the inevitable -- NO picture at all pages!! :O I always dreaded those. Funny how that is still a very clear memory. My mom said she's glad I was able to overcome that and read books without any pictures. ;P Funny "Mummy!" (I do enjoy photography books the most though! -- I love getting lost in the pictures!)

Last Sunday I went to lunch with a friend and then to a local Christian Bookstore. As we were browsing through the aisles of books, I picked up a book that looked of interest to me. After I read the back, I knew I was going to buy it. My friend said she already had it and she knew I'd like it, so she let me borrow it. Cool!! Saved $15!!

Got the book Wednesday night, and I just finished last night. Not exactly a record but good for me.

So before I went to church I had a mere 7 pages left to read. When I got home, I headed right for the chair with my book. I read the last 7 pages of this mystery/drama/romance story and after I read the last sentenced, and realized there was no more to read I yelled out:

"WHAT!??! THAT'S HOW IT ENDS!??!?! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO DID IT!!!"
I think I may have figured it out now -- but wow! What a bummer. And then there was no finalization on the romance either. Forget a wedding ring -- there wasn't so much as any Goo-goo eyes at end. What a bust! -- That's what LIFE is all about -- NOT fiction!! That's why we read fictions!!
Sticking to my imagination is just better. Things happen the way I want them to up there in the cobwebs of my thoughts.

There's not a riveting sequel? Wow - how disappointing.

I'm glad you enjoyed it overall and were able to get in some good reading time.
