I have had a cough for over 2 weeks. In the past few days it has turned violently rough and gaggy. Quite painful and uncomfortable.
Last night, I coughed until the wee hours of the morning. As soon as I would get comfy and Almost fall asleep, I'd jolt up into a huge coughing fit. At 12:30 am I went on my porch hoping fresh, cool air would help. There was a horrible smell in the air. I couldn't figure out why someone would be burning their trash at that hour. Groggy and cranky I climbed the stairs back up to my bedroom, opened my window, and tried to get some sleep. After a few more rounds of fighting my body, I finally gave in. Took my old cell phone (which I use for an alarm clock) downstairs and slept in the recliner. My body was relentless in letting me rest. I couldn't even lean the chair back a little bit or I'd start hackin' away.
After I slept for what felt like an hour or so, my phone rang. It was my friend Jimmy Dean. She asked if I was ok. I said I was, and asked what time it was. Her response: 8:30!! She was at school wondering where I was b/c that's when class starts. My alarm / 'phone' had D.I.E.D! Oy! Took a .2 second shower, ran over to school, and couldn't help but wonder why so many people were burning their trash in the morning?!?!
Made an appointment to see the dr. b/c so many people have been effected by coughs that have turned out to be bronchitis or walking pneumonia, so I didn't want to take a chance. Went to my appointment this afternoon and I'm told my lungs are clear, and it's sinus related to allergies??! But I have NO drainage. Crazy, crazy, crazy. The dr. said that's why I'm coughing b/c there's no drainage. So now I'm on 2 different meds and I need to sinus cleanse my nose. Yeah, that's gonna be interesting. Can't wait to write a post on that event. haha (Just kidding. I'll spare Those details!)
As I was heading to the pharmacy for my prescription I was rearended at a stop sign. Holy Cow! (Goldy and I are fine - the older man had just 'looked away for a second' ... I guess that causes people to hit their accelerator.)
Then, come to find out, what I was breathing in last night was all the smoke from the Boundary Waters burning in Minnesota.
And on top of everything else, while working out this evening, Jana (fellow workout buddy and my postal carrier) tells me my mailbox was on the ground this morning.
I think I should just go to bed early, and stay under my covers 'til Friday. I'm exhausted just thinking about my very cooky day!
