The Ink That Never Runneth Dry

So I've started the wal-green way of shopping. I'm very new at it - but am very, VERY excited!! I love to save money. Actually, it's a love hate relationship. I have a lot of those. I love saving money, but I hate losing quality. I bought off-brand butter. :( *sniff* I usually LOVE saturating everything with butter. Let's just say, this butter will probably be around when I turn 30!!! Oh, and t.p. is still one thing I refuse to by if it is not 2-ply or have a stitched design. If it's just flat - you know you're fingers will need washin' -- if ya get my drift!! You don't save money if you wrap your hand up like a mummy before wipin'!!!

Friday before we hit Wal-greens - with shopping list in hand - my friend told me ink cartridge refills were on sale for $5 AND there was a $5 rebate - so it would ultimately be free!! Wow!! I LOVE that word! It's been Sooooo long since I bought ink - since "like" I moved here! (1.4 years!) So I opened my printer (which took me a while to figure out - 1.4 years since the last time!!) to see what ink cartridges I needed. Imagine my complete shock when my printer was EMPTY!! NO INK!! My mouth dropped open, my eyes bugged out - I know - hard to picture!

I was shocked. Let me tell you why. I HAD JUST USED MY PRINTER THE WEEK PRIOR!!!! AND IT PRINTED!!!!

Needless to say, I grabbed the phone and called my sister. .... And then my Mom ..... and then my sister-in-law!!!!

Not believing my own eyes, I grabbed my laptop and hooked it up to the printer. Hit print, and almost started screaming from the freakish horror that my page was printing - like there was a brand new cartridge in there!!! Why buy ink if there's "like" some secret reserve ink that's in there?!?! In the back of my mind I know this is NOT possible.

I was all sad. I couldn't get ink for free. I went from free to $30. Which still was a blessing b/c usually color is $30 by itself but I got black AND color for that price.

Saturday I go to load my NEW ink. I'm operating blind b/c I don't know where my instructions are, and what's on the lip of the printer is not helpful at all. Nothing is clicking, there's no definite, "I'm going to stay in here" feeling. I finally thought, maybe I have to turn on the printer. I pulled the new ink out, and hit the "on" button. Printer noises started. And then a bad "joke's-on-you" moment happened. Like an elevator rising up to your level with the president ----- ummmm well maybe your boss, and you're standing there looking like a slob, shocked out of your mind --- there rose my original ink cartridges!!

I couldn't believe it. Man! So it wasn't a modern day miracle where the Lord kept my cartridges full. *sniff* I was totally bummed. Mainly b/c I had told SO many people!! (even more than I posted!) I even took pictures of the "empty" printer to blog my whole story. Talk about feeling like a fool! I've never seen a printer where the ink cartridges burrow down somewhere.

Isn't it amazing I can pump my own fuel!!??!!??

As this was happening my exact words were : Ey-yi-yi!! ONLY TO ME!!!!
