Where's Tom???

Poor Tom Turkey! Last week he came to our school all stressed out b/c he didn't want to be served at Thanksgiving dinner! He asked the students to help him come up with a disguise so he wouldn't get shot!

Below are the fun, creative ideas each student came up with. Enjoy -- we sure did!

Grade 2 - Indian Head Dress
Grade 5 - Camouflage

Grade 6 - Animal Store Owner ... I think
Grade K-5 - Super"Turkey"

Grade K-5 - Angel
Grade 2 - Hunter (Notice the missing foot and Note: "Missed the Deer, Shot my Foot!)
Grade 1 - Clown
Grade K-5 - Witch

Grade 3 - Pilgrim ... I think
Grade K-5 - Packer Player
Grade 3 - Indian ... I think

Grade K-5 - The All-Around Sports Dude

Grade K-5 - Diva Princess

Grade Preschool - Spider (B/c Mom thought making "SpiderMAN" would be a little toooooo complex at 3 years old!!)
- Note - It did COME to school with 2 Googley eyes -- rough day!
Grade 8 - The Non-Turkey Hunter
Grade 11 - Dangerous Criminal
Grade 1 - Diva Princess II
Below are the Teacher's Entries:
Preschool Teacher - Turk....I mean Elephant ( Note what it's saying: "Gob....I mean "Elephant Noise"!)
K-5 Teacher - Grocery Bag (There's a raincheck sticking out of the top of the bag for a "fresh turkey" and it's signed by "Tom Turk."
1st and 2nd Grade Teacher (yours truly) - Bowling Ball and Pins.
Upper Learning Center Monitor - Hunter "Carrying" a "Turkey"

Last But Not Least
Upper Learning Center Teacher - Target (Her note says "Whew! That was close!! Gobble Gobble!"
After all the entries were up on the board we all voted for who we thought would save Tom.
For the Students the CRIMINAL disguise won.
For the Teachers, the BOWLING BALL and PINS disguise won.
We had such a blast doing this project. I know a "Few" Tom's out there didn't make it through the Thanksgiving holiday - but I hope we were able to assist a few in escaping their fate ... at least for another year!! ha ha

The school that Jason works in does the same thing, but with a different pattern. We decided to take part with our kids and made a Philly Phanatic. He took pictures of some of the others so we could see them. There were a lot of cute ideas! I really like your bowling ball and pin. Our other ideas were a snowman or a gingerbread man - maybe next year! Another idea I had was to decorate it like a cow and write, "Eat more turkey!" (a variation to the cow commercial). Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
