Sunday morning it felt like winter. When I woke up I took some cough medicine - due to a sore throat, then I looked outside and there were flakes falling from the sky, and then I saw something lumpy in my driveway. ??? Wait! What was that?!?!
I had no clue what I was looking at. My windows were frosted, and whatever animal it was, was far enough away I couldn't quite make it out. I thought - is that a bear? It was black and shiny and round. Then it started moving -- and its body was breaking up - NOPE definitely not a bear?? Could it be black pigs?? I was really stretching with that one. Then these round things really started seperating - and there in front of me - only weeks prior to Thanksgiving, were 5 ENORMOUS butterball - big time - turkeys!! I discovered why their necks move all funny when they walk. It's b/c they're sooooo off balance. They have these little pins for legs, and bowling balls for bellies. They're just trying to keep from tipping over.
They all had beards, but one of the beards was a good 8 - 12" long!!! WOW!!!
I saw this video a few years ago, and I had to stop and laugh -- these turkeys knew they would survive in my yard .... b/c unlike my neighbors - I have no firearms!
Enjoy!! :D

You know how much I cracked up when I saw that! Soooo hilarious! Turkey sanctuary in Jessica's yard!
Nathan won't stop saying, "Oh my goodness! If I lived up there, we would have deer or bear or turkey or something every night! Oh my goodness, if I were there, they would have been dead!"
LOL
