Confession

I have a confession to make. I fear my sister's wrath, yet, to clear my conscience, I know I must admit my wrong. Please note, I am posting it for all to see, so if you don't hear from me for awhile, you will know my sister has come to hurt me.

Ok, here it goes. Below is my bulletin board, which Rebecca helped create - but only in the "jot-it-down-on-paper" stage, not actually putting it up.

My sister loves to help me with creative ideas. We always swap ideas and brainstorm. (believe it or not!) This board was half done, meaning the large banner, and the material were up, well before Valentines. When I went home, a week prior to Valentines, my sister asked if my board was finished. Instead of telling her the truth *sniff* I lied!! :(

This is the first she's hearing of it too, b/c I am so ashamed, I can't bear to tell her on the phone, even though we've talked almost every other day since my visit (and the lie!). On my home, I told Jordyn, I just lied to my sister, if something happens to me, please tell her the truth and that I am sooooooooo sorry!!! :( *sniff*

So Rebecca, I love you, and I lied, and I am sooooooooooooooo sorry!!!

Well, enough of the guilt!

I realized, God made this a leap year for me, so I got one extra day to do this board before the month of February was over. So, last night I stayed up until after midnight, cutting pictures, finding passages, printing passages, glueing, straightening, and burning the edges of my cardstock. My only motivation was, I need to get this done for Rebecca.

I am ghastly ashamed of myself. For a month I have had an unfinished bulletin board, BUT b/c my pride has been raked over the coals from this event, this will NEVER happen again!!!!!!!!!

The passages and pictures are really neat, so I was thinking I'll just change the banner to something else, and keep it up for another 2 weeks, and then I'll pop into spring.

Ok. Well, I hope you enjoyed my "finished" bulletin board. Sorry you had to read my whole confession. Sorry, you have to know how slow I am at completing such a simple task. Mostly I'm sorry that I'm posting this b/c it is really hurting my pride (BIG TIME!!!)!!!

As a side note - I have to say, all of my projects tend to turn out looking like a huge scrapbook page. I have no clue why that is. I am thankful however, that I love to collect scrapbooking supplies when they're on sale, b/c even though I don't find time to scrap pictures, the supplies sure come in handy for bulletin boards. :) ha ha

Oh, and yes, if you didn't notice, I do NOT have a border around my board. I was planning on a lace trim, but that's not gonna happen, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. ;)

Knowing your sister fairly well, I think she'll forgive you. The board looks great, btw.

Another idea for getting an "old-fashioned" look (such as when trying to make a paper look antiqued) is to dip the paper in tea water. It's good for making a Bible time scroll or a U.S. document from days of old. You just need time to let it dry.

You are such a goof! You really did not need to post this for the whole wide world to see! Of course, I forgive you. I just wish I could have helped more while we were up there. Next time!
