TCBC's Ladies' Day

Saturday we have our Ladies' Day at church. This is where women from around the state, and surrounding states, come and we fellowship together. We usually have a few speakers, lots of singing, games/prizes, and of course -- a nice lunch! :D This year we have one speaker and the rest of the theme/message will be portrayed through skits. I was skeptical before, but after going over the program from start to finish last night, now I am very excited.

Our theme is Christ coming back for his bride, the church. In these skits, there are three brides, the unprepared bride (yours truly), the carnal bride, and the prepared bride. The first three skits are going to be very lighthearted and VERY funny!!! (Lord willing) I get to wear a wedding dress that doesn't fit, running to my wedding, hair half done w/curlers in it, trying to put on my heels, and apply lipstick!! (Please......this shouldn't be a struggle for me....I'm a red blooded American -- I've seen WAY more going on in the driver's seat of an SUV on the freeway already!! ha ha) My friends will be running after me with duct tape and a can of white spray paint.....you know.....to make this wedding dress fit! Yes, I am a very unprepared bride in this skit!

The carnal bride is going to have tons of 'guy' friends, and it's just going to be insane. She's going to be talking on her cell to all these different guys as she's going to her wedding. "Hey Steve, give me a few weeks,....we can get together after my honeymoon." "Luke, don't forget to ask Jim to your party next month.....his eyes are so gorgeous. A party just won't be the same without him there. thanks!" And so forth. This bride really isn't sold out to her groom. Her character represents the Christian who accepted Christ as their Saviour but whose life is focused around the world, not the Lord.

Then there's the prepared bride, who is meticulate. Her wedding is planned out to the "t", she has no cares/concerns, and she's "looking forward" to being with her groom. Much like Christians today who are suppose to be looking for the glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

That's just the morning, and then after lunch, we're going to show how the carnal Christian effects those around them, not only with the unsaved that are failing to hear about the saving knowledge of Christ, but also fellow Christians who no longer can communicate with the carnal Christian like a brother/sister in Christ should.

At the end, .... hmmmm, should I tell you???? :)

The carnal Christian's friend gets saved, and so does her mother who thought she was saved b/c of being in church her whole life, and doing good. It's a very good outline. And then the prepared bride is going to come down the aisle, with two flower girls (Alexis and Savannah) and stand in the front, looking beautiful with everything in place, -- representing the Christian waiting for the return of Christ.

I'm praying everything goes smoothly! I wasn't nervous about making a fool of myself.....until I found out this is going to be taped!! WHY!??!?!??! I would like to know whose idea that was!! What are they going to do....show it during next years watch night service? (Actually I should keep my mouth shut! --- oh, I just thought of another scenariou....... putting it on the website -- not the whole thing but just a blurp. I can see it now, tcbc productions! ha ha)

If I get some pics I'll post them later -- if they're not too humiliating.
