Where's Mr. Kodak When Ya Need Him?!

I'm trying to organize my pictures, and I don't know what's worse, trying to organize them on the computer, or trying to organize them once I've got them printed. Does anyone have a system they have found to work for them? I'm going insane!! I'm afraid to delete any from the computer, but I promise I see some pictures in like 3 different places!! Then I'm trying to decide on a good folder orginzation system, and each one I come up with seems like it gets too complicated after a while. I feel like I've tried to organize my photos a million times before.
Maybe life was easier before Mr. Kodak came along!

Do you use Picasa? If you don't and you're interested, ask Rebecca about it. I mentioned it to her one time and as far as I know she likes it. It will actually take pictures from anywhere you have them stored on your computer and put them all in one place.

This is my system, which may or may not work for you. :) I have pictures of so many people, things, and events from the last three years, that eventually I just put them in folders according to month. To make them sort in order, I put the year first then the month number. For instance, last February would be 2006-02, but this February would be 2007-02. I have found this works wonderfully for me!

I will warn you, when I did this about a year ago, it took me about a week of spare time to complete it. Now it is easy, because I just dump all my pictures in this month's folder and make a new one when a new month comes. But it is so nice when everything is organized!
