Journal 10-12-06

Today we went the Post Office where there was a package for Nathan. (His birthday was coming up in 2 days!) It was from Grandma LeFave. He told me I could open it. That was quite a task. The tape she used was very good. I actually broke a pen in the course of trying to cut the tape. At first I thought she just gave him coupons, b/c that's all I saw once I finally conquered the tape and got the box opened. The coupons weren't crumpled like they had been used for packaging. Come to find out, expired coupons are accepted by the stores on overseas bases. So people in the states will send coupons over for their loved ones that they can no longer use here. You learn something new everyday! There ended up being a book in there for his birthday too, but I found the whole coupon revelation much more interesting! ;)

In the afternoon we went to Lisa Hively's home where we played "The Farming Game" and ate bowls full of regular popcorn, and yummy and delicious Kettle Corn which she made herself on the stove! Wow! Lickin' my lips just thinking about it! ;) I have written down that I won!! :) :) Woo-Hoo!!! It was great! The game is similar to Monopoly. I liked it a lot more. Instead of your friends getting all your cash b/c you're landing on their boardwalk with 4 hotels, you're losing your money to droughts and cow diseases! I know it sounds crazy, but I liked it b/c you don't feel like you're friends are out to get you. If bad things happen it's all due to the cards literally! That's perfect for me, b/c I'm way too sensitive and never liked Monopoly b/c my friends would always cheer when I was giving them my last dollar! :( *sniff*

It was hard to do, but we had to stop playing so we could go to the Ladies' Fellowship.
