Last night I was going through my material and I found the cut out pieces for a quilt I started Last Christmas!! :O (Or was it the Christmas before that?!?!) It's not a bed quilt, it's 45" x 45" and it's to hang on a wall - but I may use it as a lap cover . . . I haven't decided yet.
There isn't much in the way of instructions. The pattern was a freebie from Wal-mart. The flyer has a full size picture on one side, and the instructions on the other. If you've ever looked through a quilt book - the instructions are usually on more than one page.

This is what I completed last night
This is the back - and it's not as frightening as I expected
(Don't mind the toes -- gues they wanted their 5 seconds of fame too!)
For not knowing how (or having any instructions) my very first "pinwheel" didn't turn out too bad. (After the top and right side are sewn to their connecting pieces - the plan is - it should be squared!)
Can you tell I was confused? Half way through I changed my tactic. I was opening my seams - but then I started just ironing down both fabrics sewed together. I'm not sure which way is "right" or which way I prefer.
I started this project before 7 pm, and at 9:30 I had to get the iron and ironing board. I told myself "Ok, 30 more minutes and that's it - then you're puttin' it away and it's off to bed." Well - the next time I left the room was to get my camera to take these pictures and the clock said 11:58. Oops!! I was in my craft room for a very long time last night. I'm on my way home right now to see how much more I can get done before church. .... I better set a timer!!

Ooooo, very nice! I'm probably posting this comment right as you're leaving -- it's 3:15 here. Nice to imagine what your doing at this very moment! :o) Hope you're not getting the terrible wind that I hear howling outside today. Brrrr!

Beautiful looking quilt.
Wow! You are more brave than I am! I made a square once (w/ the help of an experienced quilter) and I was still confused. The results are always so nice though so maybe some day I'll take the time to learn how to do it.
Hi! it looks like your quilt is doing just fine, please post a picture when you get it done. If you enjoy quilting keep it up, good past time in winter. One of the best books for learning to quilt is the FONS & Porter, and they have good magazines. Grandma Barb 1/28/08
