swing 'n a miss

I've always loved playing baseball. Never cared much for watching it. Going to a game is fine, but watching it on t.v. --forget it! I'm not sure if it's from playing baseball or from "beating-up" my brothers when we were little, but I've always had a "pretty good arm."

This turned out to Not be in my favor last night. I had nursery duty, and at the end of the night it is the volunteer's job to "take-out-the-trash." That's code for.....Throw da Poop in da Dumpster! Our dumpster is in the corner part of our lot, and is currenetly nestled around a mountain of snow and ice!!

I really did not want to climb all through the snow just to through away this little white bag of trash, and that's when I noticed it. One of the lids was opened, which usually isn't the case b/c animals have a tendancy of crawling in and making a home. I was so excited, I thought, ok Jess, Nice 'n Easy. (hhhhmmmmm, isn't that the namebrand of some hair-dye? Hope I don't get sued for using that line. I'll claim freedom of speech!) ;P

I had to stand a ways off, I took more of a bowler's stance than anything, and ever so gently (I thought) lobbed it up up up into the air. I watched it sail into the night sky, and then.....Oh no, no no no....TOO Far!!! I slumped in defeat as I watched my white bag blend in to the MOUNTAIN of snow BEHIND the dumpster.

Merely trying to AVOID getting into the snowy mess is the only reason I attempted to throw the bag into the dumpster in the first place. Now, not only did I waste time by throwing it, but I'm freezing cold, and climbin' throw the snow anyways. :( Ey-yi-yi!! And of course, the bag had to be the identical color as the snow. Life just wouldn't be fun, unless you had to dig for a white bag of poop in a white mound of snow!

Ps . Thanks Josiah for the memory. Without you 'n me in the nursery, I would have just gone straight home like any ol' Sunday night without taking a trip out to the dumpster. Funny, you're only one, and yet.....Ya got me!!! :D :)
