Last-to-Know

In my family, I am the last one to know about current events with my relatives. For example, when my cousin was born I found out by accident like two weeks after the fact (if not longer)! My mom thought she had told me...oops! There's other times when I learned things for the first time as everyone else was discussing them casually -- as old news.

Well, the trait continues. Arlene has been in labor for quite sometime, so when I'm at work, I try to call home for a possible update. Today was a heavy work day so I didn't get my lunch until almost 2 in the afternoon, at which time I called home for yet another update. Dad answered the phone (I think I woke him up from a snooze on the couch) and I asked if Caleb had arrived yet? He says, yeah he's here. The way he said it, I thought, he's still half asleep, I better ask for Mom. So I asked for Mom and he starts saying, Man, I can't believe you didn't know, and he was going on and on. That is how I found out the big news! From what I learned from my half asleep father, Caleb was born at 2 in the morning, Nathan called at about 3, and that's all the info I got. *Sniff* I found out 12 hours after he was born . . . and only b/c I inquired. I can't believe my mom didn't call me at work! :(

Sometimes knowing things last isn't so bad. But most of the time, it's a stinky trait to have!

All that to say:

Welcome to the world
Caleb
Your Auntie Jessica cannot wait to see you!!!

Congratulations, Aunt Jessica!

We've had the same thing happen to us quite a few times. Good or bad news, we've discovered things weeks or even months after the fact. We understand! :)

Well, Aunt Jessica is "aunt" 3 times. You had better get the third job. :) Congratulations and hope you have many more nieces and nephews. Enough room in that vehicle to bring them all to WV!

Love you,
Miss Daisy
